• Im Rahmen der vorliegenden Arbeit wird untersucht, welche Rolle öffentliche Bibliotheken zur Integration und Inklusion von Menschen mit Migrationshintergrund spielen. Hierzu werden neben der Entstehungsgeschichte der sozialen Bibliotheksarbeit auch die Vorgaben und Richtlinien der IFLA/UNESCO im Detail vorgestellt. Am Beispiel der Bücherhallen Hamburg sowie der Stadtbüchereien Düsseldorf werden die angebotenen Dienstleistungen für diese Zielgruppe aufgezeigt. Um einen internationalen Vergleich zu ermöglichen, wird zudem die Bibliotheksarbeit der New York Public Library näher beleuchtet und im Gesamtkontext bewertet.
• This thesis examines the role that public libraries play in the integration and inclusion of people with a migration background. For this purpose, the history of the development of social library work as well as the specifications and guidelines of IFLA/UNESCO are presented in detail. Using the example of the Bücherhallen Hamburg as well as the Stadtbüchereien Düsseldorf, the services offered for this target group will be shown. To enable an international comparison, the library work of the New York Public Library is also examined in more detail and evaluated in the overall context.
