• Die vorliegende Bachelorarbeit analysiert den Stellenwert von öffentlichen Bibliotheken in den Zwergstaaten Europas anhand ausgewählter Kriterien und vergleicht die Ergebnisse miteinander. Mithilfe von qualitativen Fakten und statistischen Kennzahlen wird untersucht, welche Position Öffentliche Bibliotheken in der Gesellschaft und Politik Andorras, Liechtensteins, Maltas, Monacos und San Marinos einnimmt. Diese Informationen, die direkt bei den jeweiligen Institutionen erfragt wurden, werden anhand eines Faktors, der die Daten vergleichbar macht, analysiert und kritisch bewertet. So wird ermittelt, worin die Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede zwischen den Teilbibliothekssystemen dieser Länder bestehen. Darüber hinaus wird anhand eines Vergleichs der Resultate mit deutschen Kennzahlen ermittelt, ob es eventuelle charakteristische Eigenschaften im System der Öffentlichen Bibliotheken in Zwergländern gibt.
• This bachelor thesis analyzes the significance of public libraries of the microstates of Europe by using selected criteria and compares the results. By making use of qualitative facts and statistical key data, the author investigates which position public libraries take in society and politics of Andorra, Liechtenstein, Malta, Monaco and San Marino. The informations that were requested directly in the particular institutions are evaluated critically by means of a factor that makes them comparable. The author determines what commonalities and differences persist in those parts of the library system of these countries. Furthermore, the results will be compared to data from Germany to determine if there are characteristic properties in the system of public libraries in the microstates.
