  • This Bachelor thesis examines to what extent an analysis of the project BibChatDe, a twitterchat for library-related topics, is suitable as a basis for the development of further education for librarians. After a description of the main functions of Twitter and the characteristics of twitterchats an analysis of the participation indicates that after a run-time of one year the project BibChatDe can be considered a success. Regarding the sustainability there exists a potential for optimization. Therefore several courses of action are pointed out. After explaining the requirements of participants towards content and format of further education, the BibChatDe-topics are analyzed on the basis of category scheme. The result indicates a limited suitability of the analysis of the topics as a basis for the development of further education for librarians. Based on the analysis and the requirements towards further education concepts for digital education via Twitter and a presence-requiring event are developed.
