• Die Arbeit befasst sich mit der Vermittlung von Informationskompetenz an Schüler der 5. und 6. Klassen im Schnittpunkt von Bibliothek und Schule. Das durch digitale Medien und virtuelle Kommunikation geprägte Informationsverhalten der Schüler wird sowohl dem bibliothekarischen Verständnis von Informationskompetenz als auch der kompetenzorientierten Lehre in der Schule gegenübergestellt. Abschließend stellt die Arbeit Möglichkeiten der Zusammenarbeit beider Bildungsinstitutionen im Sinne einer altersgerechten Förderung der Informationskompetenz vor.
• The thesis works on the transmission of information literacy skills to pupils of the 5th and 6th grade in Germany, focusing on an area in which both public librarians and teachers play an instructional role. The actual information behavior of 10- to 12-year-olds, influenced by digital media and virtual communication, is opposed to the way information literacy is perceived by libraries, and learning skills are instructed in schools. Possible partnerships enable both institutions to convey information literacy according to the pupils’ needs and abilities.
