Auswahlverfahren zur Überprüfung überfachlicher Eignung von Bewerbern in (IT-)Startups : eine Falluntersuchung am Beispiel der bold ventures GmbH.

  • The purpose of this thesis is to find out how to execute a selection process to check the interdisciplinary competences of job applicants in IT startups. Through the example of the bold ventures GmbH. For this purpose the question was asked how such a selection process might look like and wheter it makes it possible to assess job applicants on the basis of their interdisciplinary competences. To answer this question a selection procedure was designed on the basis of various specialist literature to assess the job applicants at every stage of the process from the job posting to the job interview. For the job interview a specially developed questionnaire was used, which makes the competencies measurable. Subsequently, the recruited applicants were reassessed after 4 weeks and the results compared. The selection procedure showed that it is not sufficiently possible to address suitable candidates by means of the job posting. It was similar when looking at applications, but in principle it was possible to see whether an applicant referred to his interdisciplinary skills and gave examples. During the job interview and the subsequent second assessment it was possible to prove, with the help of the questionnaire, that the hired employees corresponded to the interdisciplinary competences of bold ventures GmbH. This case study shows that it is possible to assess an applicant within the interview on the basis of defined interdisciplinary competences. On this basis, it is advisable to extend the research period in order to obtain significant data and thus to improve the selection process by means of a study independently of the company.
