• In einer immer weiter digitalisierten Welt, in der Smartphones und Tablets in unserem Alltag immer mehr an Bedeutung gewinnen, ist es wichtig, sich an diese neuen Situationen anzupassen. Davon bleiben auch Bibliotheken nicht verschont. Gerade Studenten legen immer mehr Wert auf einen komfortablen Umgang mit den Informationen, die eine Bibliothek bietet. Diese Entwicklung führte dazu, dass sich Hochschulbibliotheken mit mobilen Webseiten und Applikationen der Situation anpassen und den Nutzern neue Möglichkeiten anbieten mussten. In dieser Arbeit werden folglich anhand der Hochschulbibliotheken in Nordrhein-Westfalen die qualitativen Merkmale und deren Funktionalität überprüft. Im ersten Teil werden die Geschichte und Entwicklung der neueren mobilen Endgeräte erläutert und es wird auf mobile Webseiten und Applikationen näher eingegangen. Im zweiten Teil werden unter Berücksichtigung dieser Elemente die mobilen Webseiten und Applikationen der Hochschulen geprüft und beispielhaft vorgestellt.
• It is important to face the development of a changing everyday life in a digitalized world where smartphones and tablets are gaining more importance. Libraries are as well affected of this changing situation. Especially for students, libraries should offer a comfortable usage of necessary information. This development led to the current situation we have where university libraries create mobile websites and applications in order to offer their users new possibilities. In this thesis university libraries in North Rhine-Westphalia were evaluated upon their qualitative features and their functionality. In the first part the history and development of the new mobile devices are being discussed and mobile websites and applications are further explained. In the second part the mobile website and applications of the university are being evaluated with special respect to the features mentioned in the first part and partly presented.
