• Fanfiction ist eine kreative Form der Rezeption von unter anderem Büchern, Filmen, Computerspielen und realen Persönlichkeiten. In den letzten Jahren hat diese besondere Art der Literatur vermehrt Aufmerksamkeit erlangt und das Interesse an ihr ist gewachsen. Allerdings ist die Fanfiction-Kultur in öffentlichen Bibliotheken im deutschsprachigen Raum unterrepräsentiert. Angesichts der wachsenden Popularität und der gleichzeitig bestehenden Unterrepräsentation in Bibliotheken, stellt sich die Frage, warum und auch wie öffentliche Bibliotheken die Fanfiction-Kultur in ihre Praxis integrieren können. Die vorliegende Bachelorarbeit beantwortet diese Frage und untersucht zudem das Potenzial der Integration. Dazu wird zunächst der Wandel des Lesens und Publizierens beleuchtet, einschließlich der Lesemethode des Social Readings. Im Weiteren wird der Begriff Fanfiction definiert und die Fanfiction-Kultur anhand von Beispielen sowie kurzen Einblicken in verschiedene Fanfiction-Plattformen erläutert. Weiterhin werden Beispiele von öffentlichen Bibliotheken genannt, die Fanfiction auf unterschiedliche Art und Weise in ihre Praxis integriert haben. Um herauszufinden, wie öffentliche Bibliotheken die Fanfiction-Kultur optimal integrieren können, wurde eine Online-Umfrage durchgeführt. Diese Umfrage richtete sich an die deutschsprachige Fanfiction-Community, um ihre Bedürfnisse und Wünsche in Bezug auf öffentliche Bibliotheken zu ermitteln. Abschließend wird bewertet, ob es Potenzial für öffentliche Bibliotheken gibt, die Fanfiction-Kultur in ihre Praxis zu integrieren, und wie dies aussehen könnte. Es wird deutlich, dass die Integration von Fanfiction in öffentliche Bibliotheken in vielerlei Hinsicht Vorteile bringt.
• Fanfiction is a creative form of reception of books, films, computer games and real-life personalities, among others. In recent years, this particular type of literature hat attracted increasing attention and has grown. However, fanfiction culture is underrepresented in public libraries in German-speaking countries. Given the growing popularity of fanfiction and its simultaneous underrepresentation in public libraries, the question arises as to why and how public libraries can integrate fanfiction culture into their practices. This bachelor's thesis answers this question and also analyses the potential for integration. Firstly, the changes in reading and publishing, including the reading method of social reading, are examined. The term fanfiction is then defined and fanfiction culture is explained using examples and brief insights into various fanfiction platforms. Furthermore, examples of public libraries that have integrated fanfiction into their practice in different ways are given. In order to find out how public libraries can best integrate fanfiction culture, an online survey was conducted. This survey was aimed at the German-speaking fanfiction community to determine their needs and wishes in relation to public libraries. It concludes by assessing whether there is potential for public libraries to integrate fanfiction culture into their practice and what this might look like. It becomes clear that the integration of fanfiction into public libraries brings benefits in many ways.
