TY - GEN U1 - Sonstiges A1 - Ayensa Navascues, Amalia T1 - Qualitätsmanagement und Excellenz in Bibliotheken BT - dargestellt am Beispiel des Bibliotheks- und Dokumentationsservice des CNIC Carlos III, Madrid (Spanien) N2 - This master´s thesis for the Studies of Library and Information Sciences MALIS at the University of Applied Sciences Cologne (Germany) presents the main strategies for quality management and Excellence in libraries: QM-System ISO 9000:2000 and the TQM modell for excellence of EFQM. Both of them are successfully implemented as well in the business market as in libraries and information centers. This thesis follows the idea that in fact these strategies are complementary. It is conceived to support the decision for implementing a quality man-agement strategy and Excellence at the Service of Library and Documenta-tion of the Spanish scientific center of cardiovascular research, CNIC Carlos III in Madrid. Its practical approach aims at helping to provide orientation. It gives definitions of quality, quality of information, quality of services, excellence and quality in libraries and furthermore the problem of meas-urement of quality, that allow to identify the objects of management and to support the definition of the policy of quality in the library. Therefore it gives references to requirements, steps and problems concerning each of these strategies as well as references to the institutional library framework and to experiences of libraries and services of information, in this case par-ticularly in Spain. It also makes posible the evaluation of the workload for implementing quality management and excellence in a library.
